What thoughts do you have about yourself? How do you think the people in your life perceive you?
The answers to these questions are your self-concept.
They are the beliefs that you have about yourself.
When it comes to manifestation, there are many techniques that you can use to manifest your desired life but, self-concept is the ultimate foundation for any manifestation.
This is because your personality – which is made up of your thoughts and feelings – creates the world around you.
In this blog, I will discuss what self-concept is, why it matters, how you can use it to manifest the life that you desire, and how to change it.
So……… Let’s get into it.
What is self-concept?
Self-concept is essentially who you think, feel, and believe you are; it is a collection of thoughts about yourself.
You can also call it your identity.
For example, you could believe the following about yourself: I am incredibly abundant, I am loveable, I am worthy, and magnificent in every way.
Your self-concept is your dominant “I AM” statements.
Now, I am not talking about wishful thinking here.
I am talking about what you believe on a subconscious level to be true about yourself, and what others perceive you to be.
I am talking about what you think when you are by yourself, and no one is listening.
Now that you know what self-concept is, let’s get into why it’s important.

Why does the self-concept you have about yourself matter?
It matters a great deal how you see yourself, what you believe to be true about yourself, and how you think others perceive you.
This is because it’s what happens inside of you that is reflected in your outer world.
For example, say you are in a relationship, but you believe you are not lovable, that you are a lot to deal with, and that people don’t easily commit to you.
If these are your beliefs, you will start showing up as a person who is not lovable, you will act in ways that are hard to deal with, and your partner will not commit to you.
Now imagine that the beliefs you have about yourself are that you are lovable, that you are a great partner, and that people easily commit to you.
Do you notice that these two self-concepts are polar opposites?
Even the realities they create are polar opposites.
So, in the second example, you are going to attract a relationship in which you are loved, where the partnership is great, and where your partner easily commits to you.
Remember that what manifests in your outer world -the 3D- is your most dominant thoughts of who you are and what you think others perceive you to be.

How to use self-concept to manifest the life that you desire
Have you noticed that there are people who know nothing about manifestation or the law of attraction?
They do not visualize or script the life they desire, nor do they practice any of the manifestation techniques that are taught in the law of attraction community.
But somehow, they manage to attract all that they desire into their lives.
How do you think these people do it?
They have a positive self-concept about themselves!
The girl that attracts all the guys knows and believes that she is beautiful, alluring, and irresistible.
So of course, all these beliefs that she has about herself are projected into her world, and the guys confirm them.
The person that always gets the job believes that they are confident, competent, and absolutely the perfect fit for the job.
Now……. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t visualize or script the life of your dreams by all means do that!

What I am proposing is an easier and quicker way that will help you manifest all that you desire.
Which is: Become the person that you want to be!
All you have to do is develop that inner self-concept and the rest will come to you.
It is that simple! Here’s how you do it.
Say you want to become a woman that is lovable, always gets the job, and has a successful business.
Ask yourself: What attributes would I have if I were that woman? What kind of thoughts would be running through my mind? What emotions will these thoughts evoke? How would I behave?
Write a list of those attributes and from that point on, embody them.
Start having the thoughts and feelings that a woman like that would have; also, behave in the ways she would.
You know, one of my favorite verses from the bible is Mark 11:24: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
What Jesus was trying to tell us here is that when you desire something, believe that you already have it, and it will be yours – Live in the state of the wish fulfilled!
Start acting like a woman that has a successful relationship, an incredible job, and a successful business, then all these things will be yours.
Simply by having thoughts and feelings that are in alignment with those desires.

How to change your self-concept
If the self-concept that you have about yourself is not perfect, don’t worry.
You can always change any self-limiting belief by impressing your subconscious mind with a set of new beliefs.
You can do this by using “I AM” affirmations.
Say them repetitively until they sink into your subconscious mind.
It will feel weird in the beginning – like you are trying to delude yourself into thinking that you are this new person.
Don’t worry, do it anyway!
Your subconscious mind can’t tell the difference between reality and something that is imaginary. It accepts as truth whatever your conscious mind feeds it.
So instead of believing that you have to chase love, money, and status, tell yourself: I am a magnet of all that is good. I don’t chase, I attract.
Then live like the person that attracts.
Conclusion
You are the main character in your life. Take charge and create a sturdy foundation for yourself by working on your self-concept. Trust me, it is worth it!
I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes on self-conception.
“Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the world in which you live. Do not try to change people; they are only messengers telling you who you are. Revalue yourself and they will confirm the change.” – Neville Goddard, “Your Faith is your Fortune.”
