Have you noticed that when you visit the past, you start to feel depressed, and when you project yourself to an imaginary future, you begin to feel anxious?

Well, the antidote to this is to stop brooding over the past or obsessing about the future and become present.

The book: The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle, played a vital role in drilling in me the concept that “NOW” is the only moment we ever have.

Before reading the book, my mind was perpetually elsewhere, either in the past or the future. As you can imagine, my mood usually oscillated between depression and anxiety.

So, I gave myself a challenge: whenever I catch my mind drifting from the present moment, I’ll bring it back.

And ask myself the question: What is wrong with me right now? What am I lacking right now? Not in life generally, but right now; in this very moment?

If I’m not lacking anything, I will be grateful for the present moment and keep the mindfulness going.

Here’s the thing about worry: whatever your worry is, it’s wasting your time.

No matter how hard you try to deal with it in the present moment –by obsessing over it, you’ll never win. Because it simply does not exist; it’s a mental phantom.

If it’s not happening now, it’s only an illusion; kind of like a mirage.

When that time you’re worried about becomes the “NOW,” believe that the right action, the answer, the right solution, and resources will be made available to you; not sooner and not later.

And when it comes to the past, well…that’s already gone. Let it go otherwise it will drag you down with it. And I’m sure that’s not how you want your story to end.

Actionable takeaway:

During this week, I want you to practice bringing your awareness back to the present moment when you notice your mind drifting off to the past, or imaginary future.

You can do this by simply becoming aware of your breathing. Feel the air flowing in and out of your body. Feel your inner energy field.

And ask yourself the question: What is wrong with me right now? What am I lacking right now? Not in life generally, but right now; this very moment.

If you’re not lacking anything, be grateful for the present moment, and keep the mindfulness going.

You’ll begin to notice a positive shift in your vibrational offering.
