When pursuing your goals and dreams, remember this: direction matters more than speed.
You might look at your life and think: “I should be further by now.”
But compared to whom? Compared to what?
Pace is always relative – but clarity is not.
Before you measure how fast you’re moving, ask yourself:
Am I facing the right way?
A giant leap in the wrong direction won’t help you – but a tiny step aligned with your purpose can change everything. Because direction determines destiny. Speed comes later.
So your pace may vary… but your direction must remain clear.
The world will try to make you believe that progress must be impressive to be real. That effort must be intense to be valuable and that results must be quick to be worth celebrating.
But that belief has a cost. It will make you second guess yourself and delay action.
You’ll freeze, not because you’re incapable, but because you’ll start comparing your pace instead of checking your direction.
Somewhere along the way, we believed that only big steps are meaningful.
But here’s the thing: No matter how small the step is, if it moves you toward your goals, it’s still progress.
It still matters. It still counts.
Movement is movement. And any step taken toward your goals – no matter how small – is a step in the right direction.
So if you are facing the right direction – take the step. Any step. Even a slow one. Especially a slow one. Because a slow step forward in the right direction is still infinitely more powerful than standing still.
One day, those small steps will reveal their power.
And what once felt insignificant will become the very path that changed everything.
Life isn’t asking you to move faster – it’s asking you to chose your north star, and start moving forward toward it. Even if your movement is slow and subtle.
Remember: A hundred hours of effort won’t matter if they’re spent climbing the wrong ladder. Efficiency means nothing without alignment.
So, pause every now and then to check whether you’re still headed where your heart intended. If you’ve wandered off-track while trying to keep up with the world — it’s alright. Simply recalibrate and continue.
In the end…
Speed determines how fast you move, but direction determines where you end up.
